The Carthage College Art & Design Department is currently accepting applications for an Adjunct Professor of Art History to teach 1-3 Art History courses in the Fall 2026. Hired applicants would be eligible for 1-3 courses in the Spring semester, as well. The available courses and times are:

 

ARH 3760 Gender in the Arts Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:00am-9:40am

ARH 2700 Art Survey I: Paleolithic to 1400 Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:50am-11:30am

ARH 3740 Modern Art Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:30pm-2:10pm

 

The positions are for the 2026 fall semester and begin August 26 and end Dec 11.

Applicants may apply to teach 1-3 courses. PhD, ABD and MA candidates are encouraged to apply. Opportunities for 1-3 classes in the 2026-27 spring semester are likely for hired applicants. Please note, hired applicants are subject to a background check.
