Our team of experts works collaboratively to empower children and their families through evidence-based interventions and compassionate support.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist to join our team at The SPEAK Center for Language and Learning. The Physical Therapist will play a vital role in delivering high-quality physical therapy services to children with developmental disabilities, promoting mobility, strength, and independence.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate children's motor development, gross motor skills, strength, balance, and coordination.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and each child's unique needs and goals, focusing on improving mobility, motor function, and independence in daily activities.
- Provide direct therapeutic interventions to children, using a variety of therapeutic techniques, exercises, and activities to address motor challenges and promote optimal physical development.
- Collaborate closely with other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care for each child.
- Engage families and caregivers in therapy sessions, providing education and support on strategies to promote skill development and carryover of therapeutic activities at home.
- Monitor children's progress regularly through ongoing assessments and document treatment sessions and progress notes accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for therapy sessions, ensuring equipment is properly maintained and infection control protocols are followed.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and collaborative care planning sessions to discuss children's progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
Requirements
~1 min read- Doctorate or Master's degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
- Valid AZ State licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- CPR/ First Aid/ Article 9 Training
- Professional Liability Insurance
- Experience working with children with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and others.
- Highly motivated, self-starter.
- Compassionate and client-centered approach to care, with a genuine commitment to supporting children and families on their journey to improved mobility and function.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
