About the Role

CatFace is seeking an experienced Creative Producer to lead our Narrative Stories production team. This is a hands-on creative and production leadership role responsible for bringing our more traditional, whimsical, and character-driven stories to life. You’ll manage a multidisciplinary team responsible for taking stories from script through production and final delivery, while maintaining a high creative bar and a consistent weekly release schedule.

As a full-time, in-office role based at our Austin, TX studio, our creative and production teams work closely together throughout the day, and we believe being together in person is important to the fast collaboration, problem-solving, feedback, and creative iteration this role requires.

You’ll balance creative ambition with production realities, knowing when to push an idea further, when to simplify, and where additional effort will have the greatest impact. You’ll partner closely with Animation, Editorial, and channel leadership to create engaging, repeatable content that audiences want to revisit.

What Success Looks Like

You consistently deliver high-quality Narrative episodes on schedule, raise the creative bar of the content, and build a production team that operates with clarity and ownership. You know which creative battles are worth fighting, solve problems before they derail production, and help turn ambitious stories into entertaining videos that audiences want to watch and come back for.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead the Production Team: Manage and develop a multidisciplinary team of Artists, Set Designers, Cinematographers, Production Assistants, and other creative contributors. Set priorities, create accountability, and ensure multiple productions stay on track.
  • Own Production from Story to Screen: Oversee episodes from script through production, editorial, and final delivery. Translate creative concepts into achievable production plans and proactively solve challenges that could impact quality or schedule.
  • Champion Story & Creative Quality: Work with the team to strengthen character moments, comedy, emotional beats, pacing, and visual storytelling. Ensure the creative intent of each story carries through to the finished episode.
  • Concept & Develop Ideas: Collaborate with Writers and Artists to quickly visualize and develop ideas before they move into production. Use concept art, storyboards, references, mockups, or other rapid prototyping methods to explore ideas, align the team around a creative direction, and get buy-in before committing production resources.
  • Balance Ambition, Quality & Efficiency: Make smart decisions about where to invest production resources and when to simplify. Maintain a high creative bar while ensuring the team can sustainably deliver weekly content.
  • Provide Creative Direction & Feedback: Review work throughout production and provide clear, actionable feedback on performances, environments, cinematography, animatics, and edits. Give the team clear creative direction while empowering individual contributors to bring their own ideas and expertise to the work.
  • Improve Production Systems: Identify bottlenecks and develop workflows that improve planning, communication, reviews, and handoffs. Build repeatable processes that help the team operate efficiently without limiting creativity.
  • Develop Characters & IP: Help shape recurring characters, relationships, worlds, and story formats that build audience connection and return viewership.
  • Think Audience-First: Use YouTube performance data and audience insights to inform creative decisions. Stay current on storytelling, gaming, and entertainment trends while maintaining CatFace’s unique creative identity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum five years of experience in creative producing, showrunning, production leadership, animation, digital entertainment, television, film, or a related storytelling environment.
  • Proven experience managing creative teams and multiple productions simultaneously.
  • Strong storytelling instincts, with an eye for character, comedy, pacing, emotional beats, and visual storytelling.
  • A strong visual sense and the ability to translate written ideas into a clear creative vision for artists and production teams.
  • Strong production judgment and the ability to balance creative ambition with timelines and resources.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, including the ability to give clear creative feedback and develop team members.
  • Highly organized and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous production environment.
  • Collaborative and able to work effectively across Story, Production, Editorial, and channel leadership.
  • Some weekend work may be required based on production needs.
  • Able to work full-time, in-office at our studio located in Austin, TX. Candidates outside Austin must be able to relocate.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with animation, machinima, virtual production, or gameplay-based storytelling.
  • Familiarity with Minecraft, Roblox, or similar platforms.
  • Experience producing comedy, fantasy, adventure, roleplay, or youth-oriented entertainment.
  • Experience developing recurring characters, episodic franchises, or original IP.
  • Strong understanding of YouTube storytelling, audience retention, AVD, and viewer behavior.
  • Hands-on visual development skills, such as drawing, storyboarding, concept art, or previsualization.
  • Familiarity with creative tools such as Storyboard Pro, Maya, Blender, or other 2D/3D production software.

What We Offer

  • Excellent Medical, Dental and Vision health benefits
  • 401(k) contribution
  • Flexible time off
  • Lunch, snacks and drinks provided in the office
  • Pets in the office once a month
  • Onsite fitness center
  • Learning Stipend
  • Relocation assistance for those coming from outside Austin
