We’re looking for a proactive, hands-on Facilities Technician to help keep our laboratories, infrastructure and equipment running safely, efficiently and compliantly.

Responsibilities
~1 min readAs part of our Facilities and Supply Chain team, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our laboratories operate smoothly and safely. No two days will look exactly the same, but your work will include:
- →Conducting HSE and compliance checks
- →Managing laboratory gases: monitoring levels, moving/changing cylinders
- →Supervising and coordinating external contractors
- →PAT testing and asset tracking
- →Basic fault finding, DIY and preventative maintenance tasks
- →Supporting relocation and installation of lab equipment
- →Assisting with hazardous waste handling
- →Assisting with goods in and site deliveries
You’ll be at the heart of keeping our labs safe, compliant and operational - enabling our science teams to focus on delivering exceptional work.
You’re practical, organised and solution-focused, with a strong commitment to safety and compliance. You enjoy hands-on technical work and take pride in maintaining high standards.
We’re particularly interested in people with:
- Experience in laboratory facilities, maintenance, engineering support or a similar technical environment
- An understanding of health & safety and compliance in laboratory or industrial settings
- A hands-on approach and strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and respond quickly to internal customer needs
- Willingness to support a mix of technical, operational and administrative tasks
- GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 or above in Maths and English
It would be great (but not essential) if you also have:
- A relevant technical or engineering qualification
- PAT testing certification
- Knowledge or qualifications in LEV compliance testing
- Experience with laboratory gas infrastructure
