Biomedical Engineer

C-Care, part of the healthcare cluster of CIEL Group, is a Mauritian private healthcare group, owning and operating the two main private healthcare facilities in Mauritius, namely Clinique Darné and Wellkin Hospital. C-Care also owns and manages C-Care Clinic and C-Lab.

C-Care is currently looking for a Biomedical Engineer at C-Care Darné.

• Support the manager and team in the day to day activities           
• Attending breakdown calls and give first level service on medical equipment breakdown
• Proceed promptly with repairs after obtaining quotations and approval                             
• Perform preventive maintenance and adhere to preventive maintenance schedule         
• Assist the service engineers during the breakdowns and preventive maintenance on medical equipments 
• Perform daily rounds and spot checks on medical equipment                   
• Be available for overtime / extra work in case of emergencies                    
• Update History cards and file the service reports on proper files              
• Maintain equipment inventory list  
• Get quotes, prepare PO for repairs and get it approved from the manager                        
• Send PO to the suppliers, follow up, install and complete the breakdown once received
• Maintain Breakdown log book regularly      
• Proper follow up on spares orders, equipment breakdown and update it regularly with the superior                
• Carrying out quality assurance checks to ensure all equipment are working correctly and safely  
• Participating in equipment acquisition, installation, implementation and training
• Meets Biomedical operational standards by contributing information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing   production, productivity, quality, and patient-service standards; resolving problems; identifying system improvements         
• Facilitating equipment transfer from one clinic to another                           
• Arrange standby equipment when needed               
• Arrange for accessories for equipment when requested by user
• Liaise with Pharmacy for any information required on stock of consumables, and arrange for the same when requested by user on emergency basis
• Meeting HOD's regularly and ensure the smooth operation                         
• Assist the manager for Capex budget preparation, receive quotes, comparison, getting users approval and release PO to the suppliers    
• Follow up and tracking of capex orders and ensure equipment delivery on time              
• Ensure new equipment are properly comissioned and handed over to the respective department                   
• Liaise with Finance dept to help ensure payments of orders to suppliers when required
• Assist and ensure site preparation, installation, training and operation               
• Assisting in the writing/review and implementation of policies and procedures for the smooth running of the department       
• Ensure procedures and protocols are in place for CHKS and regular audits
• Assist the manager and ensure radiation safety in place, installation, Site preparation and other related activites
• Assist the manager on all new projects - budget preparation,site preparation, installation and training
• Condemnation committee - Identify items for scrap, submit the list and dispose after approval
• Assist and prepare for Biomedical committee -  organise the committee, medical equipment capex - opex updates, updates on breakdowns and CQIs raised, and other related activities as per TOR
• Testing medical equipments with calibrated analysers and  do Risk assessment with that

• Bachelor or master’s in Biomedical engineering with Administration knowledge
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge and Technical Competencies in troubleshooting and maintenance of medical equipment
• Punctuality, Attitude, Precision & Responsible
