Dr. Shu Feng’s research group at the Cleveland Clinic Research (Cleveland, Ohio), invites applications for two Postdoctoral positions to join a dynamic and collaborative research team. Dr. Feng’s research centers on investigating the molecular actions of antiviral metabolic enzymes in infectious disease and on understanding protein phosphoribosylation in viral infection, host defense, and aging-associated neurodegeneration. The active research projects include: 1) Antiviral mechanism of phosphoribosylases in human herpesvirus infection, and 2) Biological function of phosphoribosylases in viral infection-associated neurodegeneration, specifically Alzheimer’s Disease.

• →Independent project design with the goal of data generation, analysis, interpretation and manuscript preparation
• →Independently perform a variety of research experiments in molecular biology.
• →Troubleshoot and optimize experimental procedures.
• →Accurately record, analyze, and interpret experimental data
• →Contribute to the preparation of manuscripts and grants.

• PhD or MD/PhD required
• MD with relevant laboratory experience may substitute for PhD

• English Proficiency proof required for candidates arriving on J-1, J-2, or F1 + OPT visa status

• Previous experience in a research or academic setting.  Graduate student experience meets this requirement.
• Scientific writing experience

• Keep abreast of new and improved techniques.
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary research team.
