For over 60 years, The Guidance Center has been a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care to individuals and families in Cumberland County, NJ. As a non-profit organization, our dedicated team of professionals, including doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, works to diagnose and treat all types of mental illness.

As a Case Manager for the Community Support Services Program at Cumberland County Guidance Center, you will be at the forefront of advocacy and support for individuals with mental illness living in the community. In this exciting role, you will help clients secure housing and maintain their integration into the community, fostering their self-sufficiency and independence. Your responsibilities will involve promoting the use of vital community services, supporting clients in travel and fiscal management, and facilitating access to healthcare. Collaboration with treatment providers is key as you develop tailored Individual Rehabilitation Plans, documenting progress to ensure effective service delivery. By assisting individuals in honing their social skills and daily living capabilities, you will empower them to thrive in their environment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a mental health-related field or A Licensed Registered Nurse with related experiences or A Licensed Practical Nurse with two years of related work or life experience
  • Knowledge of community resources and agencies
  • Possession of a valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record that meets organizational standards and qualifies for insurance coverage.
  • Willingness to work a flexible 40-hour schedule which may include evenings weekends holidays and on-call rotation
