Field Service Technician – Paint Tinting Machines

Job Title: Field Service Technician – Paint Tinting Machines Industry: Manufacturing – Paints and Coatings Supervisor/ Manager Title: GM – Sales & Marketing Department: Maintenance Location: Nairobi /Field Job summary The Field Service Technician is responsible for installation, servicing, preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs of Dealer Tinting System (DTS) at dealers’ outlets and in-house. The role ensures maximum machine uptime, efficient operation and timely resolution of technical issues in line with company standards and agreed SLAs. Role & Responsibilities: • Carry out installation, servicing, repair and preventive maintenance of DTS machines at dealers’ outlets and in-house. • Conduct regular inspection and troubleshooting of DTS machines to identify and resolve technical issues. • Attend to and resolve DTS breakdowns within agreed SLA timelines. • Carry out calibration of DTS machines and ensure they operate as per required standards. • Execute preventive maintenance as per the approved maintenance schedule. • Attend to and close CRM complaints assigned by the DTS Maintenance Manager/Supervisor. • Update DTS prices, software and other machine settings as required. • Maintain accurate records of service calls, maintenance activities, breakdowns and repairs. • Use CRM for recording service activities and complete the physical checklist/visit report for every customer visit. • Obtain customer signature and stamp on the completed visit report and submit reports as per company requirements. • Identify required spare parts and coordinate with the supervisor for requisition and replacement. • Maintain proper records of spare parts and accessories used during maintenance activities. • Ensure all DTS machines and accessories are maintained properly and report any major technical issues to the supervisor. • Provide technical support and guidance to dealers/customers on proper operation and basic maintenance of DTS machines. • Coordinate with the ICT department or other relevant departments for technical accessories and software-related requirements. • Follow all company safety policies and procedures while carrying out maintenance and field activities. • Provide regular updates and reports on completed jobs, pending breakdowns and other maintenance activities. Requirements Requirements Academic and professional qualifications • Diploma/Certificate in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering or related technical field. • Good understanding of electrical, mechanical and electronic systems. • Good troubleshooting and equipment maintenance skills. • Good communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Work experience • 2–3 years of experience in equipment or machine maintenance within the paints and coatings industry. • Experience in servicing, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance of machines will be an added advantage. Additional skills • Good technical and problem-solving abilities. • Customer-focused with good interpersonal skills. • Good planning, organization and follow-up skills. • Ability to work under pressure and meet SLA timelines. • Basic computer and mobile application/CRM skills. • Willingness to travel and work at different dealer/customer locations. • Valid driving licence will be an added advantage.
