Project Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide project management for a team of Java programmers responsible for multiple projects.
• Lead and mentor staff at the personnel and technical levels.
• Provide assistance for analysis, design, testing and implementation of new or existing systems.
• Provide assistance for installation and/or implementation of new or existing purchased systems.
• Create and maintain project plans for multiple projects your team is responsible for.
• Provide assistance in resolving problems with existing systems by analyzing the problem or situation and deciding upon a course of action.
• Research and evaluate new software systems.
• Research and evaluate new tools to be used by developers to increase productivity.
• Understand and insure that programming standards and policies are being implemented by your team.
• Communicate with the users to determine problems or design requirements
• Create a team environment in order to complete programming projects in a timely manner
• Understand and insure that all projects follow the Systems Development Life Cycle process
• Other duties as assigned by the Manager of Application Development.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in managing software development teams that develop enterprise applications in Java
• Experience in programming – preferably Java or C++/C#
• Experience leading staff using an agile methodology
• Knowledge of  project management standards and tools
• Experience in project management
• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with both the business community and the technical community
• Strong analytical skills, self-motivation, and attention to detail
• High School diploma or equivalent
• BS or BA in Computer Science or related field
