Job Title: Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physician (3 Openings)
Location: Tyler, TX (On-site – VA Clinic)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

We are seeking Board-Certified Internal Medicine Physicians to provide on-site primary care services at the Tyler Centennial VA Clinic (North Texas VA Health Care System). This role supports veteran patient populations in a collaborative, team-based care model.

This is a long-term contract opportunity with a base year plus four (4) option years.


Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions (e.g., diabetes, COPD, CAD, CHF)
  • Conduct patient evaluations, physical exams, and treatment planning
  • Prescribe medications and order diagnostic testing
  • Manage patient panels and provide continuity of care
  • Document all care in the VA’s electronic health record system
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams (PACT model)
  • Deliver patient education and follow-up care
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical meetings

Physicians typically see 9–12 patients per day and manage panels of ~1,089–1,366 patients.


Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine (ABMS or AOA)
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state
  • Current BLS certification
  • DEA registration (Texas preferred prior to start)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in primary care or internal medicine
  • Completion of residency in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
  • Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal)

  • Experience managing chronic diseases in adult populations
  • Women’s health or chronic pain management experience
  • Prior VA or government healthcare experience
  • Telehealth experience (VA Video Connect or similar)
