The Security Dispatcher provides safety and security for designated property and personnel. This role is responsible for monitoring, reporting, and documenting routine and irregular activities, responding to emergencies, managing access control, and operating security systems such as CCTV and badging systems.
Provide access control at vehicle and personnel entrances.
Challenge unauthorized personnel and process visitors, guests, and vendors.
Operate access control gates and monitor CCTV systems.
Conduct basic troubleshooting of access control devices.
Prevent unauthorized access and manage parking control.
Maintain effective communication during routine operations and incidents.
Identify and report unsafe conditions, hazards, and security violations.
Prepare logs and reports using standard grammar and digital systems.
Observe and report suspicious activity to appropriate authorities.
Provide investigative support and handle confidential information.
Monitor and verify property removal from the facility.
Operate IP-based telephone and multi-channel radio systems.
Route calls and dispatch information to appropriate units.
Follow response protocols for incidents, alarms, and notifications.
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls from employees, vendors, law enforcement, and internal security teams.
Ensure all hardware and software systems are functioning properly.
Perform key access control functions and generate access reports.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Ability to maintain vigilance and situational awareness at all times.
Strong multitasking skills, including simultaneous monitoring and communication.
Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication.
Ability to read and comprehend regulations and procedures.
Proficiency in using security systems (CCTV, access control, radios, etc.).
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred:
Two (2) years of physical security experience, or
Six (6) months of security experience in a manufacturing environment, or
One (1) year in law enforcement or the armed forces.
Education may supplement experience:
Twelve (12) college credits in relevant fields (Security, Law Enforcement, IT, Psychology, etc.) = six (6) months of experience.
Shift-based role, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Indoor and outdoor work environments with potential exposure to weather and industrial conditions.
Must be able to wear PPE and remain on foot for extended periods.
May require lifting, bending, and responding to physical incidents.
