The Data Architect is responsible for designing, building, and managing the organization's data architecture. The role involves developing data models, defining standards, and establishing best practices for data storage, integration, and retrieval. The professional will ensure that data systems are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs and industry best practices.
- Design and implement enterprise data architecture solutions that support business objectives
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for transactional and analytical systems
- Create and maintain architecture blueprints, standards, and documentation
- Define data flow standards and integration architectures across systems and platforms
- Design scalable data lake, data warehouse, and data lakehouse architectures
- Architect cloud data solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid environments
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and performance optimization of data systems
- Design ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time data streaming architectures
- Develop Master Data Management (MDM) strategies and implementations
- Create data cataloging frameworks and metadata management systems
- Establish data lineage capabilities and impact analysis
- Collaborate with Data Governance teams to implement quality standards
- Support data classification, retention, and privacy compliance initiatives
- Define and enforce data modeling standards and naming conventions
- Contribute to the development of data policies and procedures
- Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand data requirements
- Translate business needs into technical data solutions
- Work with application architects to ensure seamless data integration
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role
- Strong expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical)
- Hands-on experience with data lake, data warehouse, and data lakehouse architectures
- Proficiency in cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines and real-time streaming architectures
- Solid knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles
- Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and metadata management
- Strong understanding of data security, privacy compliance, and regulatory standards
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with real-time data processing and event-driven architectures
- Knowledge of Machine Learning pipelines and MLOps practices
- Experience with graph databases and knowledge graphs
- Familiarity with Data Mesh principles and federated data architectures
- Industry experience in healthcare, finance, retail, or manufacturing
- Experience with API design and microservices architectures
