Responsibilities

Reporting to the Supervisor, Facilities, this position will be responsible for:

→Servicing and maintaining all electrical equipment associated with the operation of Parks and Facilities Operations department;
→Planning installations from blueprints, sketches and specifications;
→Installing all electrical and electronic devices;
→Submitting written reports, and completes comprehensive forms as required;
→Cleaning and maintaining tools and work areas and follows all safety policies and procedures;
→Communicating and cooperating with other employees;
→Working in all types of weather and all conditions, with minimum supervision;
→Performing Occupational Health and Safety duties as outlined in the Corporate Health and Safety Program;
→Performing other related duties as required.

Requirements

Must have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency;
Must have a current Certificate of Qualification (C of Q) as an Electrician (309A), including an apprenticeship, under the Tradesperson’s Qualifications Act, as offered through the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities.
Must have over five (5) years of experience (in addition to the C of Q) associated with the duties involved in the Certified Electrician.
Must be able to read and understand design drawings, manufacturer’s literature, and installation diagrams for piping and connected appliances.
Must hold and maintain a current valid and lawful Class G driver’s license in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, for the purposes of operating a City of Windsor vehicle and provide a driver’s abstract as a condition of employment.
Must be familiar with and follow all safety policies and procedures.
Must be able to submit written reports, complete comprehensive forms as required by the trade, and have legible handwriting.
Must be able to work with a minimum amount of supervision.
Must have demonstrated good public relations skills.
