If you're tired of being told how many patients to see, fighting insurance for what your patients actually need, and watching your skills plateau because your clinic doesn't actually invest in you - keep reading.

You went to PT school to be excellent. You deserve to work somewhere that lets you become it.

Whether you're a new grad looking for real mentorship or an experienced PT ready to reset a career that's stalled out, this is built for you.

CJ Physical Therapy & Pilates is a 100% cash-based outpatient clinic in downtown Portsmouth, NH. For 10 years, we've helped adults 40+ stay active, mobile, and out of the surgery, injection, and medication cycle.

Our clientele is mostly in their 40s and up. They're active. Intelligent. Curious. They ask great questions and have a vested interest in having agency over their health, movement, and longevity.

They don't just want their pain to go away. They want to understand what's happening, get stronger, stay active, and keep doing the things that matter to them for decades to come.

Honestly - our clients are the best.

Our clinical model is built on three specialties:

  • Mechanical Diagnosis & Therapy (MDT / McKenzie Method)

  • Pilates-based rehab using the tower, chair, and reformer

  • Regenerative therapies including Shockwave (EPAT/ESWT) and EMTT

You don't need experience in all three to apply. We provide structured training and mentorship in every specialty. What you do need is the standards and curiosity to actually master them.

We're celebrating our 10th year - and we're entering our biggest growth phase yet. Our goal is to 10x the business over the next three years.

We don't have every piece of that mapped out yet. That's the point.

We're building the next version of CJPT now - expanding our team, developing new leaders, growing our services, and ultimately bringing this model of care to far more people.

If you want to simply walk into an established role and do the same job for the next five years, this probably isn't the place for you.

But if the idea of joining a growing company early, helping shape what comes next, and having opportunities that don't even exist yet sounds exciting - keep reading.

We could tell you what it's like to work here. It's better to hear it from the people who do.

"I interviewed at a few places. The thing that kept setting CJPT apart was the mentorship and support. Six months in, my PT school friends are burning out and feeling spread thin. I'm not. Every day I leave reminded I made the right decision."

- Dr. Maddie, joined as a new grad

"I was a PT for 17 years and done with the insurance model - coding for medical necessity instead of treating people. I found this clinic and reset my career. I haven't seen this much improvement in my patients anywhere else, and I wouldn't go back."

- Dr. Todd, joined after 17 years in insurance-based care

The most common concern we hear from great candidates is the same one: "Will I know how to talk to patients about paying out of network?"

Here's the truth. Almost no one on our team had done it before they got here.

It's the one fear that disappears fastest because we train it directly. You'll learn exactly how to have confident conversations about value, pricing, and long-term care - the same way you'll learn MDT and regenerative therapies.

You don't need to walk in knowing how. You need to be willing to learn it.

If you believe people deserve real, unhurried care and you're willing to be coached on the rest, you'll thrive here.

  • 60-minute, 1:1 PT sessions and 30-minute regenerative therapy sessions - one patient at a time, fully present

  • Zero insurance battles, productivity quotas, or documentation rabbit holes

  • You build real relationships with patients you actually get to know, and you see them through to the result - not just until the pain stops

  • Collaborative, feedback-driven team. Low ego, high standards. Nobody's alone on an island here.

  • Fun, dog-friendly, low-drama culture in the heart of downtown Portsmouth

  • Evaluate and treat patients using the MDT framework as your foundation (training provided if you're new to it)

  • Integrate Pilates-based rehab (tower, chair, reformer) and regenerative therapies (Shockwave, EMTT) to deliver outcomes most clinics can't

  • Own your patient outcomes - retention, results, and long-term transformation

  • Show up fully for our Tuesday training blocks and weekly mentorship

  • Participate in community events and team experiences that build the culture

  • Contribute ideas, take ownership, and help us build a better company as we grow

  • You're done with insurance-driven volume, productivity targets, and overlapping visits with not enough time to help people

  • You want a challenge and you won't settle - you're hungry to keep learning and getting better week by week

  • You take ownership of patient outcomes, not just hours worked

  • You actively want feedback and push your own development

  • You enjoy working with active, motivated adults who ask questions and want to understand their health

  • You see patients as long-term relationships, not transactions

  • You believe high-quality, cash-pay care is the future of PT

  • You're energized by growth, change, and the opportunity to help build something bigger

  • You need to be told exactly what to do and how to do it

  • You want to be left alone clinically with no feedback or training

  • You're looking for a slow-paced, low-accountability environment

  • You want your job to look exactly the same three years from now

  • You think volume and productivity units are the right way to measure a PT

  • You're more interested in your credentials than what your patients actually achieve

  • NH-licensed Physical Therapist (or license-eligible), including new grads

  • Excited to learn and apply MDT as your primary evaluation framework

  • Passionate about client education and movement-based rehab

  • Curious about regenerative therapies and ready to add them to your toolkit

  • Accountable, coachable, and a real team player

  • Someone who wants to become an exceptional clinician - and potentially grow into much more as the company grows
