Position Information:  The Surgery & Wound Clinic Manager is responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of the surgical and wound care clinic. This role ensures high standards of care, staff competence, and smooth coordination between surgical and outpatient wound management settings. This leader collaborates with physicians, infection prevention, and clinical teams to maintain efficient surgical operations and support evidence-based wound care practices—ensuring optimal patient outcomes and compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.

 

Days: Monday through Friday

 

Hours:  8 am to 5 pm

 

Pay Range:  Dependent upon experience.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Supervise and support a multidisciplinary team including RNs, LPNs, techs, and ancillary staff.
  • Supervise nursing care and treatment protocols for patients with chronic, surgical, diabetic, and pressure-related wounds.
  • Collaborate with wound care providers to implement best practices and monitor patient outcomes.
  • Ensure documentation, treatment plans, and follow-up care are accurately recorded and communicated.
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, competency development, and performance evaluations.
  • Create and maintain a collaborative, patient-focused work environment.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all relevant regulations (CMS, OSHA, The Joint Commission).
  • Support data collection for quality metrics such as surgical site infections (SSIs), wound healing rates, and patient satisfaction.
  • Assist in budgeting for equipment, staffing, and supply needs in both the OR and wound care areas.
  • Monitor inventory, control costs, and optimize resource utilization without compromising care quality.
  • Complete other duties, as assigned.

 

What you bring to the table: 

  • Required - 
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Kansas (or eligible for licensure).
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in perioperative or wound care settings.
  • Prior leadership or charge nurse experience.
  • Strong understanding of OR protocols, infection prevention, and wound management practices.
  • Preferred -
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing or Health Care Administration.
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN or WCC) or CNOR certification.
  • Experience in rural healthcare or critical access hospital settings.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems and surgical scheduling software.
  • Customer and personal service to include meeting needs, assess and resolve issues, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate satisfaction

Typical Working Conditions: 

Requires sitting at a desk while answering the telephone, placing phone calls and scheduling appointments on a computer.
