Support and professional development for new faculty are available through opportunities such as the Mentoring Alliance Program (MAP) and the Crown Center for Teaching.
The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include General Chemistry (CH107, CH108), and foundational courses and upper-level electives in the faculty member’s area of expertise. Faculty are also expected to contribute to Colorado College’s General Education Program. Tenure-track faculty are expected to teach six blocks per year, with two blocks for development of courses. In the Chemistry & Biochemistry department, one of the six teaching blocks is dedicated to mentored research. In addition to teaching responsibilities, tenure-track faculty are expected to maintain an active research program, mentor undergraduate research students, and engage in department and college service.
Requirements
~1 min readA Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field is required by the start of employment. Applications from ABD candidates who will complete their Ph.D. before August 2027 will be considered.
Broad teaching experience in chemistry, including computational chemistry. Demonstrated success in teaching using innovative and inclusive methods. Ph.D. and postdoctoral research experience, including mentoring of undergraduate students.
