The CAO is a delegated administrative authority that supports condo living and enhances consumer protection by providing services and resources that reach all condo communities across Ontario. We are accountable to the government through and Administrative Agreement with the Minister of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement. The seven-member board of directors provide strategic guidance and oversight of the organization.

We value flexibility and have adopted a hybrid work model whereby employees use a combination of working remotely 2 days a week and in the office for 3 days


Role Purpose

Reporting to the Manager, Data Analytics & Reporting, the Business Intelligence Analyst, is responsible for interpreting and analyzing data, providing actionable insights, producing comprehensive dashboards and reports, and supporting business decisions. This role develops subject matter expertise and builds strong relationships across teams, promoting a culture of data-driven decision-making and data literacy throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Data Collection and Preparation

  • Collaborate with teams to identify relevant data sources and gather necessary data.
  • Clean, transform, and preprocess data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and readiness for analysis.

Reporting and Visualization

  • Work with stakeholders to determine reporting needs that enable data-driven decisions.
  • Develop dashboards, charts, reports, and other visualizations to clearly present findings.
  • Automate recurring reports and data visualizations where possible to increase efficiency.

Interpretation and Insight Generation

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights that drive business decisions.
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand their needs and offer data-driven recommendations.

Data Analysis

  • Apply statistical techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights and forecasts.
  • Identify trends, patterns, and correlations to support business objectives.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover new insights and opportunities.

Data Quality and Integrity

  • Define and maintain a “source of truth” for data, ensuring consistency across teams.
  • Identify and resolve data discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Provide recommendations to business teams and management based on analysis to support actionable solutions.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analysis.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to processes and ways to enhance data analysis efficiency.

Collaboration

  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including analysts, managers, and directors, to gather requirements and offer analytical support.
  • Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics).
  • 3+ years of working with PowerBI to create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards.
  • Demonstrated 4+ years of data-driven decision-making experience.
  • Strong T-SQL, Python, PySpark, or R skills with the ability to write complex queries to extract and manipulate data from relational databases.
  • Experience with Google Analytics/GA4 an asset. 
  • Experience creating surveys and knowledge of Question Design best practices.
  • Experience with standard and advanced data analysis techniques such as regression, trend lines, forecasting, modeling, clustering, Hypothesis Testing, Content Analysis and Narrative Analysis
  • Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

  • Base Salary - CAD 70,000-80,000 annually
  • Hybrid working environment - 2 work from home days per week (Mon, Fri), with 3 days in-office per week (Tues, Wed, Thurs)
