As a Staff Software Engineer, DevOps at Conga, you will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for designing, building, and evolving the infrastructure, automation, and cloud platform capabilities that power Conga’s revenue lifecycle management solutions. You will partner closely with Engineering, Product, Security, and Operations teams to establish scalable DevOps practices, accelerate software delivery, and improve platform reliability across our global SaaS ecosystem.

This role goes beyond operational support. As a Staff-level engineer, you will influence architectural decisions, drive modernization initiatives, and champion best practices that improve developer productivity, system scalability, and operational excellence. You will be a trusted technical expert, helping teams navigate complex infrastructure challenges while advancing Conga’s cloud transformation strategy.

DevOps is a critical pillar of Conga’s ability to deliver reliable, secure, and innovative solutions at scale. As our platform footprint continues to grow, maintaining deployment velocity while ensuring system resilience and security becomes increasingly important.

As a Staff Software Engineer, DevOps, you will help shape the future of our engineering platform by designing highly available cloud infrastructure, advancing automation capabilities, and enabling best-in-class development experiences. Your leadership and technical expertise will directly impact software quality, operational efficiency, and our ability to rapidly deliver customer value.

  • Serve as a technical leader for DevOps initiatives across engineering teams.
  • Define architectural standards and best practices for infrastructure, deployment automation, and operational excellence.
  • Drive strategic initiatives that improve scalability, resiliency, and platform performance.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers across the organization.
  • Design, implement, and optimize enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines that accelerate software delivery.
  • Establish automation strategies that improve deployment consistency, quality, and release velocity.
  • Partner with development teams to streamline build, test, deployment, and release processes.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Architect, build, and maintain highly available cloud environments across AWS and Microsoft Azure.
  • Lead infrastructure modernization efforts using Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.
  • Develop scalable cloud-native solutions that support current and future business requirements.
  • Optimize platform performance, reliability, security, and operational costs.
  • Design and support enterprise-grade containerized environments utilizing Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Define deployment patterns and operational standards for Kubernetes-based workloads.
  • Lead initiatives focused on orchestration, scalability, observability, and platform automation.
  • Drive the adoption of cloud-native development and deployment practices.
  • Develop Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using technologies such as Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Build automated solutions for provisioning, configuration management, compliance, and operational support.
  • Improve monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response capabilities across cloud environments.
  • Champion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and reliability-focused engineering practices.
  • Partner with Security teams to implement cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Design solutions that support encryption, identity management, access controls, and network security.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen platform resilience through disaster recovery and fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Ensure infrastructure solutions align with security and governance standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale cloud infrastructure and software delivery platforms.
  • Proven success leading complex DevOps, cloud modernization, or platform engineering initiatives within SaaS organizations.
  • Experience architecting highly available, fault-tolerant systems supporting mission-critical workloads.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical strategy and drive engineering best practices across multiple teams.
  • Deep understanding of microservices architectures and cloud-native application design principles including SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and multi-tenant platforms.
  • Advanced expertise with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud services and infrastructure management.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks including Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and modern container orchestration technologies.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts including DNS, TCP/IP, VPNs, firewalls, routers, and network security.
  • Experience implementing cloud security frameworks, identity management, and compliance controls.
  • Working knowledge of software development technologies including .NET Core/.NET Framework, Java, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve complex infrastructure and application challenges.

You are passionate about reliability, automation, observability, and continuous improvement.

  • AWS, Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes, or other cloud platform certifications.
  • Experience architecting and operating large-scale Kubernetes environments.
  • Experience designing globally distributed, highly resilient cloud platforms.
  • Expertise with disaster recovery planning, business continuity, and fault-tolerant architectures.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks, including OAuth, WS-Security, encryption at rest, and encryption in transit.
  • Experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices and observability frameworks.
  • Experience working within Agile development environments utilizing Atlassian Jira and modern DevOps toolchains.
  • Background supporting enterprise SaaS products at scale.
