Responsibilities

The Data Center Technician must work well with others and will help ensure overall availability and reliability to meet or exceed defined service levels of data center operations. This position involves hardware and network diagnostics, followed by physical repair, and will include participation in an on-call rotation. You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining operations, conducting root cause analysis, and providing technical support to ensure the health of our high-performance infrastructure.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of data center operations, including hardware diagnostics, repairs, and the assembly and installation of equipment. Your role involves developing documentation, training internal teams, and creating scripts to update server and networking hardware while maintaining an accurate inventory. You will work a shift pattern and participate in on-call rotations to support our 24/7 environment, with occasional travel to other data centers as required. This is a 100% onsite position based in Porsgrunn, Norway, with an expected start date of June 2026.

  • 3+ years of data centre experience.
  • Experience with Data Center buildout, including assembling and installing equipment.
  • Proven computer hardware experience in troubleshooting and assembly.
  • Proficiency with the Linux operating system.
  • Ability to work a shift pattern, participate in on-call rotations, and provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills with the ability to prioritise and react quickly to issues.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 22kg and work in elevated locations.
  • Must have valid work authorisation that does not require current or future sponsorship.

Nice to Have

  • Computer Networking experience.
  • Experience with Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
  • Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Juniper JunOS.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field.

The starting salary will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and the market location. We strive for both market alignment and internal equity when determining compensation.
