Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Conduct occupational medical examinations, including job certification, respirator clearance, and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
- →Perform medical surveillance examinations for employees exposed to occupational hazards, including audiometric, respiratory, and chemical exposure monitoring programs.
- →Administer Department of Transportation (DOT/FMCSA) medical examinations and maintain Medical Examiner certification requirements.
- →Support Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) First, Second, and Third Class medical certification examinations.
- →Conduct travel medical evaluations and provide medical clearances for domestic and international assignments.
- →Evaluate and treat occupational illnesses and workplace injuries while ensuring appropriate documentation and case management.
- →Support NASA pilot and aerospace medical programs through examination support, medical reviews, and qualification assessments.
- →Participate in medical emergency response activities, providing Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) interventions as required.
- →Review occupational audiograms and assist with hearing conservation program requirements.
- →Deliver health promotion initiatives, wellness campaigns, vaccinations, screenings, and educational outreach programs.
- →Provide occupational health training on topics such as bloodborne pathogens, hearing conservation, and workplace health hazards.
- →Maintain compliance with federal regulations, NASA requirements, OSHA standards, and occupational medicine best practices.
Requirements
~3 min read- Education and Certifications:
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of California.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- CAOHC Certification (Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation)
- Completion of NIOSH-approved Spirometry Training Course
- Registered FMCSA Certified Medical Examiner
- Required Experience and Competencies:
- Experience in occupational medicine, employee health, aerospace medicine, military medicine, or related clinical settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOT, FAA, and federal occupational health regulations
- Experience supporting federal agencies, NASA, Department of Defense, or aerospace organizations
- Familiarity with medical surveillance programs and occupational health compliance requirements
- Experience supporting aviation medicine or flight-related medical evaluations
