Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Independently oversee the entire caseload of approximately 20 workers' compensation files, ensuring progression toward resolution with minimal supervision.
  • Attorney Support: Act as the primary operational partner to the Workers' Compensation Attorney, Cameron Simmons, ensuring files are organized and ready for review.
  • Client Communication: Embrace written communication tools like email and case management software to keep clients informed, reducing unnecessary phone calls.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain responsiveness and build trust with clients, requesting feedback and Google reviews from satisfied clients.
  • Technology Utilization: Embrace and utilize technology such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and case management software for efficient document management and communication.
  • Independent Problem Solving: Identify and implement next steps independently, maintaining momentum on cases and anticipating problems before they arise.
  • Expanded Case Support: If the role develops into a full-time position, assist with additional case support responsibilities such as medical records requests, lien management, and related administrative support.

 

  • Workers' Compensation Expertise: Several years of dedicated experience in workers' compensation, with the ability to contribute immediately without extensive training.
  • Independent Worker: Ability to own and manage the firm's workers' compensation department, proactively managing cases and following through consistently.
  • Technological Proficiency: Comfort with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and other document management systems; willingness to learn new software quickly.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Demonstrated skills in written communication, prompt responsiveness, and documentation of conversations to keep clients informed.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong ability to maintain accurate file documentation, organized case records, and clear communication history to ensure efficient case progress.

What We Offer

Flexible Structure: The current workers’ compensation caseload is expected to support approximately 20–25 hours per week. The firm is open to considering either part-time or full-time arrangements depending on candidate fit, experience level, and whether additional responsibilities are added over time.
Full-Time Benefits Eligibility: For full-time employees, benefits may become available after the 90-day introductory period, including healthcare eligibility, PTO, and sick leave.
Potential Part-Time Perks: For part-time employees, medical benefits are not currently included, though paid holidays may be discussed depending on the final schedule and employment arrangement.
Location: This role is primarily based in Wilmington, NC, with Goldsboro, NC considered as a secondary location depending on candidate fit and business needs.
