Job Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining our buildings, grounds, and service locations. This hands-on position performs preventative maintenance, general handyman repairs, yard work, and facility upkeep while also traveling to other locations to complete service and repair work. Overnight travel may be required to complete work at other facilities.
The ideal candidate is dependable, self-motivated, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working independently at various locations.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and routine facility maintenance.
- Perform general handyman repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, doors, fixtures, and other building repairs.
- Perform yard work, landscaping, cleanup, and watering of plants.
- Inspect facilities and identify maintenance and repair needs.
- Deliver and pick up parts, tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Travel to other service areas to perform maintenance and repair work.
- Work independently at remote locations and stay overnight when needed to complete projects.
- Maintain tools, supplies, work areas, and maintenance records.
- Assist contractors and vendors as needed.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.
- Previous experience in facility maintenance, handyman work, construction, landscaping, or a related field preferred.
- Comfortable using hand and power tools.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Able to perform physical work and work both indoors and outdoors.
- Willing and able to travel and stay overnight when required.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Work in outdoor, facility, and manufacturing environments.
- Work in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to industrial environments and potentially hazardous materials or chemicals.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, lift, carry, and perform physical maintenance tasks.
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools and other maintenance equipment.
