Tanning Representative
Position Summary
The Tanning Representative serves as the club-level specialist within the Relax and Recover department, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, promoting wellness services, and driving retail and tanning product sales. This role requires a strong knowledge of tanning equipment, hydro-massage systems, and spray tanning services to provide safe, informed, and professional guidance to members.
The ideal candidate is energetic, sales-driven, and customer-focused, with the ability to create a welcoming and informative experience while ensuring all services are delivered safely and in accordance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
Member Consultation & Service
- Greet and consult with members in a professional, friendly, and upbeat manner.
- Recommend safe tanning times and appropriate services based on individual member needs and skin type.
- Clearly explain differences in UV tanning beds, spray tanning options, and related wellness services.
- Provide guidance on tanning lotions and product usage to enhance member results and safety.
- Deliver exceptional customer service in all member interactions.
Sales & Business Performance
- Achieve and exceed weekly and monthly sales goals for tanning services and retail products.
- Utilize suggestive selling techniques to promote tanning lotions, upgrades, and additional services.
- Support membership engagement through upselling and cross-promoting club offerings.
- Participate in social media outreach and community engagement efforts to promote services.
- Track daily performance metrics, sales goals, and administrative reporting requirements.
Facility Operations & Cleanliness
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully sanitized tanning and recovery area.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained according to company standards.
- Monitor facility readiness during high-traffic periods and adjust priorities as needed.
- Uphold strict sanitation protocols to ensure member safety and comfort.
- Assist in maintaining an overall professional and welcoming environment.
Administrative Support & Compliance
- Complete daily administrative paperwork and performance tracking accurately and on time.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
- Support management with additional tasks, reporting, and operational needs as assigned.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all Relax and Recover services and products.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum age of 18 years.
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or sales environment required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
- Reliable transportation required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Salon, wellness, or fitness industry experience preferred.
Certifications
- Current CPR/AED Certification required.
- SmartTan Certification (provided by Fitness Ventures LLC upon hire).
- Additional certifications may be required based on state or local regulations.
Employment Eligibility
All applicants must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must maintain eligibility throughout their employment. Proof of employment authorization and all documentation required for employment verification must be provided upon hire. Employees are responsible for notifying the company immediately if their work authorization status changes.
