We are looking for a Program Manager, Chip Technologies to be our leading expert in the field of microprocessor (chip) research and to lead our upcoming development program in the domain.
Your role is to get CSC’s computational research infrastructures visible and useful for the European chip design and manufacturing ecosystem and secure roles for CSC in EU-funded research projects in the domain. This is a senior role for a person who understands the semiconductor landscape and can translate chip design challenges into opportunities for high-performance computing and artificial intelligence.
The role is not focused on laboratory semiconductor manufacturing, but on making CSC’s research infrastructures, especially LUMI and the LUMI AI Factory, valuable and visible to European communities working on chip design, simulation, and AI-enhanced design automation tools and workflows. In addition, you are expected to follow closely the development of the related policies and politics, distilling and disseminating the weak and strong signals for our own strategy work.
The Program Manager will be responsible in progressing the following themes:
Coordinating CSC’s involvement in research projects and sales in the domain, leading the related project acquisition and being in charge of the project portfolio management
Positioning the LUMI supercomputer as the go-to platform for chip design, and coordination the development of the LUMI computing environment to match that vision
Building and keeping up our relations with the microprocessor research community
Engaging in CSC’s influencing activities and policy work related to Chips Act and other digital sovereignty topics.
The role is expected to start without direct reports, but it will likely evolve into a group manager position as the successful candidate builds and expands their team. The role reports to the director of CSC’s Science and Technology business line and is a member of the business line management team.
What we expect
The successful candidate should have a M.Sc. in an applicable field and strong track record (min. 5 years of professional experience) in the related research and/or industry. A Ph.D. degree is considered an advantage.
