The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the installation, inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment across commercial, industrial, and infrastructure facilities. The role ensures all mechanical assets operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and international standards.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- →Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment, pumps, motors, compressors, fans, piping systems, and mechanical equipment.
- →Carry out maintenance of chilled water systems, ventilation systems, AHUs, FCUs, exhaust fans, and associated components.
- →Maintain plumbing systems, water supply networks, drainage systems, valves, and fixtures.
- →Assist in the maintenance and testing of firefighting mechanical systems, including pumps, sprinkler piping, hose reels, and related equipment.
- →Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective corrective actions to minimize equipment downtime.
- →Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
- →Perform equipment alignment, lubrication, replacement of bearings, seals, couplings, belts, and other mechanical components.
- →Conduct inspections and record maintenance activities using work orders and maintenance management systems.
- →Support commissioning, testing, and startup activities for new mechanical installations.
- →Ensure compliance with safety regulations, permit-to-work requirements, lockout/tagout (LOTO), and company HSE procedures.
- →Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other trades to complete maintenance activities efficiently.
- →Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and safe condition.
- →Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests.
Requirements
~1 min read- Diploma or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical discipline.
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within facilities management, MEP, industrial plants, commercial buildings, or infrastructure projects.
- GCC or Saudi Arabia experience is preferred.
- Valid Saudi Council Certificate as "Technician"
- Knowledge of HVAC systems and mechanical maintenance practices.
- Experience with pumps, motors, compressors, piping systems, and rotating equipment.
- Understanding of plumbing and firefighting mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance manuals.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of electrical and control systems related to mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- High level of safety awareness.
- Willingness to work shifts or attend emergency call-outs when required.
Nice to Have
~1 min read- HVAC Technician Certification.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (where applicable).
- Occupational Safety or HSE certification.
- Valid Saudi driving license is an advantage.
