  • An earned doctorate (e.g., PhD, DrPH, ScD, MD) in Public Health or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates will be considered, but must have completed the doctorate by hire date.
  • The candidate should have a demonstrated record of success in teaching and research commensurate with the qualifications for Assistant Professor at CSUSM.
  • Experience in teaching, research or other creative activities, and the ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with colleagues on an ethnically and culturally diverse campus is required.
  • Candidate must have experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate college level students and practical experience in preparing manuscripts and grant proposals.
  • Expertise and ability to teach both introductory and higher-level courses in Public Health. We encourage candidates to look at the courses offered by the department and describe the courses they can teach in their teaching statement.
  • History of interdisciplinary collaboration and/or community-based research.
  • Evidence of applying to and obtaining external funding.
  • Post doctoral or clinical training.
  • Additionally, applicants who can demonstrate intercultural competence with a variety of groups in teaching, research, and service are strongly preferred.

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $7,427 - $7,980 per month

CSU Classification Salary Range: $6,221- $13,224 per month
