Responsibilities
~4 min read- →Independently provide support and develop professional digital and social media content for Summer Session marketing, recruitment marketing, and broader Enrollment Management and Marketing initiatives, including but not limited to maintaining and updating video content on the university’s YouTube channel and other digital platforms.
- →Coordinate, schedule, and track day-to-day digital content publishing schedules across a variety of Marketing and Communications channels, including social media, web, email, video, digital signage, and other campaign platforms in support of Summer Session and general enrollment marketing priorities.
- →Develop engaging content designed to support Summer Session promotion and other digital marketing campaigns, including content focused on recruitment, registration deadlines, course availability, financial aid availability, student success, timely degree completion, affordability, academic opportunity, and the value of a CSUSB education.
- →Work collaboratively with the Marketing and Communications team and support conceptualization, developing and planning Summer Session marketing initiatives as well as broader recruitment and enrollment marketing campaigns, including all phases of strategic planning, creative development, implementation, and continuation of multi-channel communication and marketing strategies.
- →Under general supervision, interpret, and apply a wide range of digital marketing and communication strategies to enhance Summer Session promotion, social media engagement, recruitment marketing, student communications, and enrollment-focused outreach.
- →Maintain and track project management systems, campaign calendars, production schedules, digital asset inventories, and related databases to keep assigned Summer Session and enrollment marketing projects current with status, approvals, deadlines, and publishing schedules.
- →Apply working knowledge of digital communication principles and marketing techniques in planning and implementing creative campaigns that grow awareness, engagement, and participation across Summer Session, recruitment, and other enrollment-focused audiences.
- →Collaborate with campus partners, including Financial Aid & Scholarships, the Office of the Registrar, Student Financial Services, International Programs, academic colleges, Admissions, Outreach, and other units as needed to ensure Summer Session and enrollment marketing messaging is accurate, timely, student-centered, and aligned with university priorities.
- →Independently write, edit, and proof written marketing and communication content using professional story development, journalistic writing, and editorial practices to effectively communicate Summer Session and enrollment priorities while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with CSUSB brand standards.
- →Meet production schedules and deadlines related to Summer Session campaign planning, recruitment marketing, creative development, web updates, email communications, social media deployment, video production, campus collateral, and other promotional materials.
- →Provide lead work direction and project leadership to digital content student assistants supporting Summer Session content creation, enrollment marketing campaigns, social media production, video editing, photography, campaign tracking, and related digital marketing activities.
- →Analyze Summer Session and enrollment marketing data, including YouTube/video performance, social media engagement, website traffic, email campaigns, and other digital marketing metrics.
- →Interpret campaign data, project status, outcomes, audience engagement, and applicable policies; prepare reports and presentations with findings, recommendations, and opportunities for improvement.
- →Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including audience reach, engagement, click-through rates, video views, web traffic, email performance, conversions, and enrollment-related outcomes.
- →Coordinate assigned Summer Session marketing activities by documenting processes, organizing materials, maintaining continuity, and developing sustainable workflows for Summer Session 2027 and future terms.
- →Support recruitment and enrollment marketing priorities through digital content, campaign coordination, social media, video and photography projects, web and email content, and other efforts that strengthen CSUSB’s visibility, reputation, and enrollment.
- →Participate in CSUSB committees/meetings as assigned to provide support for developing messaging strategies.
- →Collaborate with university personnel to align marketing efforts with style standards and best practices, enhancing university credibility for both internal and external markets.
- →Effectively use web communication technology to achieve communication goals by monitoring office email accounts to route and respond to inquiries as needed.
- →Contribute to CSUSB's vision of being the academic leader in customer service through quality, commitment, courtesy and teamwork.

Requirements
~3 min read- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of relevant experience. Additional experience which demonstrates acquired and successfully applied knowledge and abilities shown above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
In addition to Marketing Communications Professional, I knowledge and skill requirements, work assignments typically require:
- Working skills and knowledge of marketing, communications, public relations, branding, and/or related disciplines.
- Working knowledge of protocols and institutional etiquette related to public and media relations.
- Working knowledge of copyright and other applicable laws pertaining to publications and the media.
- Skilled in developing and implementing marketing and/or communications strategies and campaigns.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills to plan, organize, and manage multiple marketing projects.
- Strong composition and editing skills to quickly produce clear and concise standard documents for internal and external publication.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to create and deliver marketing initiatives and campaigns.
- Ability to provide lead work direction and training to others.
- Proficiency in using communication and marketing software and tools.
- Professional or technical experience in mass communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, videography/photography.
- Ability to organize and plan work and projects including handling multiple priorities.
- Ability to keep abreast of public policy and public affairs issues.
- Ability to make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to compile, write, and present marketing reports and communication plans.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse campus community.
- Experience in a marketing / public relations agency environment.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within and outside the workgroup and serve as a liaison for the organizational unit.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with staff and students.
- Well-developed organizational skills to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.

- Prior experience or proficiency with Apple computers
- Working knowledge of university organizational policies, rules, regulations, procurement, purchasing. Experience in a higher education development or marketing setting is preferred.
- Basic knowledge and understanding of media outlets including print, television, and radio. Ability to work with the media for the coverage of events.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including strong public speaking, listening and interpretive skills.
- Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of related professional or technical experience required.
- Valid CA Driver’s License
What We Offer

Anticipated hiring range: Step 01 $5,178 per month for qualified candidates
Classification hiring range: $5,178 (Step 1) - $7,543 (Step 20)
