Advisor Environmental Management

• Parramatta, Newcastle or Wollongong office preferred, though other NSW DPHI Office location will be considered 
• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 to $129,492 plus super

You’ll help shape better planning outcomes for communities across NSW by supporting environmental assessments for development applications, major projects and rezoning proposals. Working as part of a collaborative team, you’ll analyse environmental data, contribute to clear and practical technical advice, and help ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes through strong governance and quality assurance processes.  

 You’ll balance multiple projects, navigate new systems and tools, respond constructively to feedback, and look for opportunities to work smarter together while delivering accurate, reliable and defensible advice.

• Knowledge of the NSW planning, assessment and approval environments including relevant legislation, policy, regulations, standards and codes of practice.  
• Experience in environmental management advisory space (government, operator, consultancy or equivalent).   
• Experience supporting environmental management planning programs, which may include noise, air, water, contamination, waste or pollution programs.  
• Experience implementing waste and pollution management assessment methodologies. 
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.  
• Solid time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.  
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to contribute to group efforts and support colleagues in achieving objectives.  

• Degree qualification in a related relevant discipline or equivalent relevant experience e.g., Bachelor of Engineering (Civil/Waste), Bachelor of Environmental Science or Bachelor of Applied Science
