Sr. DevOps Engineer (REMOTE)

Cyware is hiring a Senior DevOps Engineer to build, secure, and operate the infrastructure supporting product environments in AWS and AWS GovCloud. This role owns CI/CD, deployment, and operational reliability across commercial and government environments, ensuring releases meet high standards of security, availability, and compliance across cloud boundaries, including FedRAMP High, GovRAMP Moderate, and IL5 environments.

• →Work closely with development teams to integrate projects into production AWS and AWS GovCloud environments and ensure ongoing support.
• →Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent; support Helm chart packaging and ArgoCD/GitOps deployment into Kubernetes.
• →Operate and harden infrastructure within compliance-heavy authorization boundaries such as FedRAMP High, GovRAMP Moderate, and IL5, maintaining continuous compliance across releases.
• →Own environment segmentation, secrets management, and access controls consistent with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP control families.
• →Manage Kubernetes workloads, Helm chart versioning, and release promotion across development, staging, commercial, and GovCloud production environments.
• →Build reliable, scalable infrastructure services in AWS and support infrastructure for both cloud and on-premise deployments.
• →Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK for repeatable, auditable provisioning.
• →Support database deployment and schema migration using Postgres, Flyway, or equivalent tooling tied to release cycles.
• →Build monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational automation to meet government-grade availability and incident-response requirements.
• →Partner with Security/GRC to prepare and maintain evidence for FedRAMP/GovRAMP continuous monitoring, POA&Ms, annual assessments, and audit cycles.
• →Participate in incident response and root-cause analysis for GovCloud-hosted environments, with documentation meeting government audit standards.
• →Gain deep application-level knowledge of systems and contribute to their overall design; troubleshoot application, deployment, and operations issues.
• →Build engineering automation and productivity tools to streamline and scale production applications while minimizing manual interaction.
• →Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Solution Architecture, and Security/GRC to keep commercial and government environments aligned with the product roadmap without compliance drift.
• →Be a DevOps champion by building security, reliability, scalability, and best practices into the development lifecycle.

• US Citizenship is a requirement of this position in accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C).
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps/Platform/Site Reliability Engineering, with 2+ years operating workloads in AWS GovCloud.
• Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining infrastructure under FedRAMP High or Moderate, GovRAMP/StateRAMP, or DoD IL5 authorization frameworks.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance; active or eligible for a federal security clearance.
• Working knowledge of NIST 800-53 controls and how they translate into infrastructure and pipeline design.
• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Helm, and GitOps (ArgoCD or equivalent).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent cloud services.
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline engineering using Bitbucket Pipelines, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or equivalent.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools including Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Experience with configuration-management/automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Rundeck, or equivalent.
• Experience with queuing systems such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, SQS, or equivalent.
• Experience with relational database deployment/migration tooling such as Postgres and Flyway, or equivalent.
• Experience supporting continuous monitoring, POA&M remediation, assessment, and audit cycles.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts such as subnets and environment segmentation.
• Experience with containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Ability to create infrastructure services for both cloud and on-premise deployments.
• Exposure to Linux, EC2 security, AWS CLI, S3, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SSH, Docker, Git, Jenkins, CircleCI, Nagios, JMeter, and BlazeMeter.
• Experience with startup environments and lean, collaborative engineering teams.
• Knowledge of MongoDB, Python/Django, data structures, and algorithms is an added advantage.

• Prior experience at a cybersecurity or SaaS vendor maintaining a FedRAMP-authorized environment through initial ATO and ongoing ConMon.
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional.
• Experience with container security scanning and software supply-chain security, including SBOM and image signing, in a government context.
• Familiarity with SOAR/TIP or broader cybersecurity product environments.
