About the Role
~1 min readDave is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Marketing Technology team. This team builds the systems, platforms, and integrations that power how Dave reaches, engages, and retains millions of members.
You’ll lead a squad that works closely with Marketing, Product, and Engineering to support lifecycle campaigns, personalized messaging, experimentation, and the continued evolution of Dave’s marketing website. That includes improving site performance, discoverability, and SEO — including the use of AI-driven SEO strategies as search continues to evolve.
This is a highly collaborative role with meaningful ownership. You’ll help shape technical direction, grow a strong engineering team, and build systems that directly influence member acquisition, engagement, and retention.
This role reports to the Senior Engineering Manager.
The Martech team sits at the intersection of engineering, growth, and member experience. You’ll help define how Dave scales communication with members while improving the underlying systems that support experimentation, campaign execution, and website performance.
You’ll partner closely with Product, Marketing, and peer engineering teams to balance speed, quality, and long-term sustainability. Not everything will be fully defined — and that’s part of the opportunity. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building clarity, improving systems over time, and helping teams do their best work together.

You take ownership of outcomes, not just delivery timelines. You think beyond your immediate team and understand how engineering decisions influence member experience, business goals, and operational scalability. You care about building systems that hold up over time and know how to balance urgency with thoughtful technical decision-making.
You’re also collaborative in how you lead. You build trust across teams, invite feedback, and help create clarity when priorities evolve. You understand that strong engineering organizations are built through communication, shared accountability, and sustainable execution — not heroics.
This is a collaborative, high-autonomy environment where teams are trusted to shape solutions and influence strategy. Priorities evolve as we learn from data, experiments, and member behavior, so adaptability and thoughtful decision-making matter.
You’ll have the opportunity to help shape both technical systems and team culture while working closely with leaders across Engineering, Product, and Marketing.
