About the Role

The Speech Pathology Lecturer (Industry Professional) will contribute to the teaching teams in the postgraduate programs to enhance the student learning experience and outcomes. This is your opportunity to contribute to making a direct impact on the Master of Speech Pathology program through clinical education support and teaching related activities.

This position is suited to a person with current clinical expertise, clinical education experience and a passion for developing and delivering effective teaching practices to support high quality learning and success for speech pathology students. A keen interest in engagement with the disability sector to support teaching and employability is also necessary.

  • Apply industry, clinical and/or research practice into student learning experiences, success, engagement and resources.
  • Contribute to the review of units and courses and implement refinements.
  • Support the development and delivery of clinically-focussed learning opportunities across the curriculum
  • Adopt new innovation in curriculum design at the unit level in consultation with unit chairs and deliver learner-centric, research-informed teaching practices
  • Provide academic support to students whilst undertaking clinical placement activities and guide students to appropriate support services                                                                                                                        
  • Master of Speech Pathology or other relevant qualifications with relevant professional experience;
  • Recent (within the last five years) speech pathology practice experience
  • Knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary issues.
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs.
  • Knowledge of effective clinical teaching practices to improve student success and wellbeing.
  • Ability to contribute to communities through teaching and/or research and excellent interpersonal skills
