The Faculty of Arts and Education is dedicated to being at the forefront of teaching, learning, creating and social development and fostering cutting-edge research and discovery. The School of Education places high emphasis on research that makes a difference and is solution-led. We work closely with industry partners, local communities and governments to translate findings into practice.

  • Lead unit and course teaching teams; collaborate across the faculty to design, review and refine effective curricula and learning materials.
  • Embed industry, clinical and/or research practice into unit and course design to enhance student learning, engagement and success.
  • Lead the development and adoption of innovative, learner‑centred and research‑informed curriculum design across multiple levels and delivery modes.
  • Make a significant contribution to securing research and creative activity funding, including competitive external grants, commercialisation and translation funding.                                                                                                                                                                           
  • PhD in a relevant discipline and/or advanced qualifications and experience in the relevant discipline area
  • Excellent record of scholarly learning and teaching in UG and/or PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and research supervision
  • Nationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in quality journals, and exhibitions where relevant to the discipline.
  • Positive engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national standing of the discipline.

 

  • Lead highly productive, high-quality, research, scholarship and creative activities generating high impact outputs.
  • Direct teaching teams to develop innovation in curriculum design to inform unit/courses and materials which influence teaching across discipline within the university.
  • Lead impactful national and international collaborations that advance teaching, research, and creative activities.
  • Build a strong, sustained research reputation with high-quality, relevant outcomes delivered for industry partners.
  • Drive effective assessment design and innovation, ensuring clear criteria, consistent moderation, and strong student support to improve learning outcomes.                                                                                                                                                                                      
  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Distinguished scholarly learning and teaching in UG and PG programs, including innovative curriculum design and supervision to doctoral level.
  • Internationally and nationally recognised research reputation underpinned by publications in high quality journals, and other relevant research outputs.
  • Success in obtaining and timely completion of competitive external research grants
  • Successful engagement with research, community, industry and government to enhance the national and international standing of the faculty.
  • Demonstrated success and passion for leadership of teaching, research and/or administration.
