Our Finance team plays a key role in supporting this mission by ensuring accurate financial management and helping tell the story behind our impact.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support financial operations for our real estate development portfolio, with a focus on affordable housing projects.
In this role, you will handle complex accounting tasks, including transaction recording, reconciliations, and financial reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with Real Estate Development, Client Programs, Treasury, and broader Finance teams to ensure accurate financial data and support sound decision-making.
This position also serves as a backup for payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Record real estate transactions, including loans, property purchases, and sales
- Prepare grant invoices in compliance with contract requirements
- Complete monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Monitor receivables and project-related financial activity
- Prepare financial reports for operations reviews, construction draws, and financing applications
- Partner with Real Estate Development to track project financials
- Support payroll processing and related reporting as needed
- Contribute to strong internal controls and accurate financial reporting
Qualifications
Required:
- 1+ year of accounting or finance experience
- Experience with general ledger and account reconciliations
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field with substantial accounting coursework
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred:
- Nonprofit, real estate, or property management accounting experience
- Experience with Abila MIP, Sage, or similar systems
- Spanish language skills
Work Requirements
- Hybrid role that allows for remote work, with up to 10 hours per week onsite in Springfield, OR
