~1 min readWe are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer – Rewst to design, develop, implement, and maintain automation solutions that improve operational efficiency across Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments. The role will have a strong initial focus on Rewst, with ownership of the platform, development of automation workflows, customer onboarding, and creation of reusable automation solutions.
You will work directly with MSP customers, technical teams, Service Delivery Managers, and Operations Managers to understand operational challenges and translate them into practical, scalable automation solutions.
You will be working with a technology services organisation focused on helping Managed Service Providers improve operational efficiency through automation and modern technology solutions. The organisation combines technical expertise with practical business understanding to develop repeatable automation capabilities that reduce manual effort and improve service delivery.

- Demonstrated experience developing automation workflows, integrations, or scripts.
- Experience with Rewst, or strong capability to rapidly become proficient in the platform.
- Strong knowledge of PowerShell, Python, Jinja templating, JSON, and REST APIs.
- Experience developing reusable automation workflows and components.
- Strong understanding of structured development, testing, release, and version-control practices.
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 environments.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Graph.
- Ability to interpret OpenAPI and Swagger documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting authentication, API, and data integration issues.
- Experience working with structured data formats such as JSON.
- Previous experience within an MSP or Technology Services Provider (TSP) is highly desirable.
- Service Desk, Infrastructure Engineering, or Systems Engineering experience is advantageous.
- Understanding of MSP platforms, including PSA, RMM, documentation, monitoring, and security systems.
- Experience onboarding customers onto automation platforms is beneficial.
- Experience with Microsoft Power Automate and Power Platform is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with .NET/C# is advantageous.
- Exposure to AI integrations, MCP, or emerging AI automation technologies is beneficial.
- Experience using Git or equivalent source-control platforms.
- Passionate about automation and eliminating unnecessary manual work.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable taking ownership of projects and working autonomously.
- Curious and able to learn new platforms and technologies quickly.
- Confident communicating directly with customers.
- Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercially aware and able to connect technical solutions with business outcomes.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing skills.
- Comfortable managing competing automation initiatives and priorities.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Design, develop, test, and maintain automation workflows using Rewst.
- Take ownership of the Rewst environment and help establish standards, structure, and governance.
- Review and improve existing workflows to enhance reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
- Develop reusable workflows, components, templates, and automation modules using Python, PowerShell, Jinja, and JSON.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues within existing automation workflows.
- Maintain clear technical documentation for workflows, integrations, and automation processes.
- Contribute to establishing and developing an internal Rewst Centre of Excellence.
- Develop standards and best practices for designing, testing, documenting, and deploying Rewst automation.
- Review existing automation assets and identify opportunities for consolidation and standardisation.
- Build a library of proven automation solutions that can be reused across multiple MSP customers.
- Identify new automation opportunities and convert successful solutions into repeatable offerings.
- Stay current with new Rewst features, integrations, and platform capabilities.
- Lead the technical onboarding of MSP customers onto the Rewst platform.
- Understand customer technology stacks, operational processes, and automation objectives.
- Configure and integrate Rewst with customer environments.
- Identify high-value automation opportunities during customer discovery and onboarding.
- Help customers prioritise automation initiatives based on efficiency, business value, and operational impact.
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and support following implementation.
- Develop a catalogue of standardised automation workflows that can be consistently deployed across MSP customers.
- Identify common MSP operational challenges that can be transformed into repeatable automation solutions.
- Package workflows and automation components for efficient deployment across different customer environments.
- Continuously refine the automation catalogue based on customer requirements, platform developments, and emerging MSP needs.
- Design and implement integrations between Rewst and third-party platforms using REST APIs.
- Work with Microsoft Graph, Microsoft 365, and Azure APIs.
- Interpret OpenAPI and Swagger documentation to support integration development.
- Manipulate structured data using JSON and other common data formats.
- Troubleshoot authentication, API, and data integration issues across connected platforms.
- Develop or support automation using Microsoft Power Automate and Power Platform where appropriate.
- Assess whether Rewst, Power Automate, or another automation platform is best suited to a particular business requirement.
- Contribute to developing a broader, platform-agnostic automation capability.
- Evaluate emerging automation technologies and integrations that could improve services delivered to MSP customers.
- Engage directly with MSP customers during discovery, onboarding, implementation, and ongoing automation engagements.
- Participate in customer meetings, workshops, and technical discovery sessions.
- Translate technical concepts into clear operational and business outcomes.
- Identify repetitive, manual, or inefficient processes that can be automated.
- Work with service desk, infrastructure, and operations teams to identify new automation opportunities.
- Use Git and structured development practices to manage changes and maintain version history.
- Continuously improve automation performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
