Continuous Improvement Engineer
Location: St. Louis, MO, US

The Engineer, Continuous Improvement will support the site’s Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives by applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to optimize processes, reduce waste, and improve operational efficiency. This role contributes to the execution of CI projects and assists in building a culture of continuous improvement, safety and quality.
Your key responsibilities
* Process Analysis & Optimization: Conduct time studies, root cause analysis, and data collection to identify improvement opportunities & assist in implementing Lean tools (5S, visual management, standard work) and basic Six Sigma techniques.
* Project Support: Coordinate small-scale CI projects under guidance of the Manager, CI & prepare documentation, reports, and visual boards for tracking progress.
* Data & Metrics: Maintain CI dashboards and KPIs (OEE, throughput, yield) & support reporting for site performance improvement initiatives.
* Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance teams to ensure alignment on improvement actions & Participate in kaizen events and workshops.
* Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to all management systems including, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and FSSC 22000, with an understanding of DSM-Firmenich’ s Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures and responsible that these policies and procedures are implemented throughout the organization and all related activities under the position’s jurisdiction.

You bring
* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 1-3 years in manufacturing or process improvement preferred.
* Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt desirable).
* Analytical and problem-solving skills & ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages (e.g., R, SQL) to analyze data, automate processes, and support business decision-making.
* Ability to design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
The salary provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly rate: $75,000-$85,000.
In addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits. All benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements.
