Earnies are committed to helping borrowers move forward with confidence by offering smarter borrowing options with a clearer path to taking control of their debt. If you’re as passionate as we are about our mission, read more below, and let’s build something great together.

The Senior Business Operations Manager will report to the VP, Head of Lending.

As the Senior Business Operations Manager, you will:

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and execution across our lending business units, serving as the core connective tissue between business leaders and Product, Marketing, Risk, Finance, and Data Analytics.
  • Conduct high-leverage analytical deep dives and advanced financial modeling to identify performance drivers, run scenario analyses, and guide executive decision-making.
  • Own and maintain the quality of critical corporate operating cadences, including weekly business reviews, monthly business reviews, and board material preparation.
  • Coordinate annual corporate and strategic planning processes, managing cross-functional timelines, inputs, and deliverables.
  • Act as a versatile internal consultant, shifting smoothly across portfolio management, deep analytics, and operational tracking as organizational priorities scale.
  • Build a long-term foundation toward a general management track within Earnest’s lending business units.

About You:

  • Recent MBA graduate, or equivalent relevant professional experience in strategic finance, investment banking, corporate strategy, or financial services.
  • Exceptional financial modeling and analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to autonomously build scenarios and translate complex data sets into strategic recommendations.
  • A high-ownership self-starter who thrives when operating without a fixed lane and feels energized by fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
  • Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills, with a track record of effectively influencing cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders without direct authority.

Even Better:

  • Prior experience in fintech, consumer lending, or capital markets, with a solid grasp of asset-class mechanics or lending operations.
  • Direct experience supporting or interacting with corporate development, strategic finance, or asset liability management (ALM) teams.
  • Familiarity with structured business review frameworks (WBR/MBR) and hands-on exposure to business unit P&L management or forecasting.

Where:

  • This role will be based in the San Francisco Bay Area. While you'll enjoy the flexibility of remote work, we ask you to join us at our Oakland office for  2–3 days a week for collaborative, face-to-face teamwork alongside our VP, Head of Lending.

Compensation:

A little about our pay philosophy: We take pride in compensating our employees fairly and equitably. We are showcasing a range of your potential base salary based on the roles location. The successful candidate’s starting pay will also be determined based on job-related qualifications, internal compensation, candidate location and budget. This range may be modified in the future.

At Earnest, our people bring our cultural principles to life. These principles define how we work, how we win, and what we expect of ourselves and each other:

  • Every Second Counts: Speed is our competitive advantage. Our customers need better solutions, and the faster we execute, the greater our chance of success.
  • Choose To Do Hard Things: We win by tackling the hard things that others avoid, fueled by grit and resilience.
  • Pursue Excellence: Great companies, teams, and individuals never settle and are proud of the work that they do. What’s good enough today won’t be good enough tomorrow. Excellence isn’t a destination; it’s a mindset of continuous improvement.
  • Lead Together: Our success comes from how we work together. Leadership is not about titles—it is about action. We take ownership, drive results, and move forward as a team.
  • Don’t Take Yourself Too Seriously: We take our work seriously, not ourselves. The stakes are high, but a sense of humor keeps us grounded, creative, and resilient.
