Title: HR Generalist
The HR Generalist supports the day-to-day execution of human resources operations and program, ensuring a positive employee experience and efficient HR processes across the organization. This role will focus on core HR functions including but not limited to the following areas: staffing (hiring, onboarding, and offboarding), employee relations, benefits, training, performance management, safety, and compliance. This role works closely with the HR Manager and Administrative Assistant, and reports directly to the VP of People & Organization.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Support the hiring process by posting positions, communicating with candidates, coordinating interview logistics, conducting phone screens and reference checks, and coordinating the background check process
- Manage the onboarding of employees by coordinating creation of onboarding schedule, scheduling onboarding sessions, facilitating new hire documentation, and coordinating first day and arrival logistics
- Support offboarding processes including exit documentation, system updates, and any other necessary logistics
- Manage performance review cycles and surveys
- Manage benefits administration including enrollments, changes, reconciling invoices and stipend submissions, employee inquiries, and troubleshooting any issues as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across HR systems (BambooHR, Lattice, Tilt), ensuring data integrity
- Manage implementation and tracking of employee training and development programs
- Assist in maintaining the employee handbook and HR documentation, including file organization and maintenance
- Support in data gathering, entry, and submission for compensation program
- Provide guidance and support on routine employee relations matters and questions relating to HR policies, processes, and programs, escalating complex issues to HR Manager if needed
- Support HR compliance, including required documentation and audit readiness
- Support in the payroll process, including tracking necessary adjustments for each pay cycle
- Assist with coordinating employee engagement initiatives and internal communications
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and contribute to operational efficiencies
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Skills:
- Understanding of general HR policies and procedures, as well as best practices
- Working knowledge of employment/labor laws and HR compliance
- Familiarity with benefits administration and leave management
- Strong organizational and task management skills, as well as attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Teams, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience using HRIS platforms such as BambooHR and performance management tools such as Lattice is a plus

Education & Experience:
- 4-year university degree, BS or BA
- 2+ years of experience in human resources or related field preferred
- HR certification (e.g SHRM-CP, PHR) or progress towards certification is a plus
Travel & Time Commitment:
- Limited travel related to company events, possibly industry conferences and miscellaneous other items
- This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times.
