General Summary: Edgeworks strives to build responsible, independent, lifelong climbers. Personal trainers' primary responsibility is to maintain a safe and fun environment for clients to learn and practice specific training skills. Personal Trainers report to and collaborate with the Climbing School Manager.
Core Functions:
- Maintain a safe learning environment
- Create a welcoming and inclusive space
- Consult with new clients to determine fitness goals
- Instruct clients on training techniques
- Create training plans for clients
- Collaborate with other trainers and management
Desired qualifications:
- Current Personal Trainer certification or able to achieve certification from an accredited program such as NASM, NSCA, NESTA, NCFS, or NFPT
- Previous personal training experience
- Prior gym climbing experience
- Top rope belay card at Edgeworks or ability to attain belay card
- Current CPR/AED training
- Current first Aid training
- Experience with gym bouldering
- Experience teaching climbing technique
- Indoor lead climbing experience
- Reliable and professional employee with a strong work ethic
Employment Status & Compensation:
- Part-Time
- Commission: 50% to 60% DOE (when working 1 on 1 with clients)
- Hourly: $21.68 to $24.92 (for teaching fitness classes)
