BIM Coordinator - Plumbing/Piping

Egan Company is seeking qualified candidates for a BIM Coordinator - Plumbing/Piping position with our Mechanical team located in Champlin, MN. The BIM Coordinator role is to oversee model management tasks for Virtual Design & Construction Projects. Coordination, Install drawing production, & Fabrication Spool Production.

The basic responsibilities of the BIM Coordinator - Plumbing/Piping includes but are not limited to the following:

• →Set-Up of BIM Coordinated Models Utilizing Egan Templates.
• →Coordination & Modeling of Mechanical Plumbing and Piping Systems. Including all Information. Required to Provide a Complete & Functional Virtual Installation of the Project.
• →Creation of Field Installation Drawings & Fabrication Spool Drawings.
• →Collaborate with other Internal and External BIM Coordinators.
• →Review of Project Drawings, Specifications, Submittals, etc.… in order to Provide a Complete and Coordinated Project VDC Model.
  • →Ability to Find Issues During BIM Coordination Process and Assist in RFI Requests to Eliminate Field Issues.

• Maintain and Enhance Egan’s CAD Infrastructure, which includes:
  • File and folder organization
  • Customized support files
  • Model content and templates
• Communication with Other Office Staff (Project Managers & Coordinators)
• Communication with Field Foreman

• Two Year Technical Degree in CAD or Related Field
• Minimum of 5 years of Experience in Mechanical Industry
• Minimum of 2 years of Revit and/or AutoCAD Experience

• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Effective teacher, in small or large group settings.
• Able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
• Fundamental Knowledge of Mechanical Plumbing & Piping Systems.
• Ability to Read and Interpret 2d Drawings & Specifications.
• Ability to Read and Interpret MN Plumbing & Mechanical Codes.
• Proficient in the use of standard office computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, etc.)
• Creative problem solver
• Highly organized
• Proactive learner
• Self Driven
• Proficient in the following:
  • CAD Skills
  • Revit
  • AutoCAD
  • Navisworks
  • Revizto
  • Autodesk ACC
  • Trimble

• Self-starter with strong initiative and follow-through.
• Ability to present ideas and complex information in a concise, professional manner.
• Attention to detail and ability to question if something does not look correct.
• Foresee events and anticipate changes in conditions and operations to the greatest extent possible and reacts to these appropriately.

• Performance of duties will mostly be in the office; visits to shop and job sites as needed.
• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
• Exposure to On-Site Construction Elements during Site Visits
