This role leads and develops Regulatory professionals who support product development for innovation, technical transfers, and upgrades. The Manager oversees regulatory compliance across the full product lifecycle - from raw material and formula review, ingredient label development, and claims substantiation, to artwork/asset approval and product registration. This role is also accountable for cosmetic/OTC product and site registrations for the US and Canada, serving as the subject matter expert for regulatory strategy and execution. The Manager will develop and maintain comprehensive regulatory frameworks supporting cosmetics/OTC and will own the related end-to-end documentation. Manage, coach, and develop direct reports within the Regulatory team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and growth.
Provide ongoing guidance and mentorship to team members, supporting their professional development and day-to-day performance.
Build and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships across R&D, Marketing, Operations and Legal.
Oversee regulatory compliance across the full product development lifecycle, including product registration and notification for e.l.f. Beauty brands, serving as the primary point of contact with Health Canada and the US FDA.
Monitor and communicate the regulatory impact of upcoming cosmetic regulations to proactively drive alignment and execute required actions.
Represent e.l.f. Beauty on trade association committees and leverage regulatory intelligence to inform and strengthen internal strategies.
5+ years of experience in a regulatory affairs role within the cosmetics industry, including at least 2 years of people leadership.
Comprehensive knowledge of cosmetic product regulatory requirements, with expertise in color cosmetics and skin care - encompassing ingredient compliance, labeling, registration and product claims.
Strong knowledge of US and Canada cosmetic and OTC regulatory frameworks. Working knowledge of additional global market(s) is desirable.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to balance compliance requirements with business priorities.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, regulatory, or related field required.
The base salary range for this role is listed above.
Total compensation includes base salary, annual company-based performance bonus, and equity. Under e.l.f.’s annual bonus program, employees are eligible to earn up to 200% of their target bonus when company performance exceeds defined goals. In addition, e.l.f. provides a variety of other benefits to employees, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The amount of total compensation (including base salary) offered will be based on a wide range of factors, including geographic location, experience, specific skills, and qualifications.
