Position Summary:

This position provides CNC programming support and technical machining expertise for the research and development of Technical Data Packages (TDP) for mission-critical sustainment products including aircraft components, air-vehicle components, and ground support system components.

Under the leadership of a technical leader, this role will:
• Complete, define, and post CNC programs to machine identified products on multi-axis machines including 5-axis machining centers, lathes, and multi-axis lathes.
• Develop and manage set-up sheets, machining work instructions, and tool lists as required.
• Understand and professionally communicate process improvement opportunities related to all post-processing activities.
• Maintain the ATTC tooling log and order tooling and other materials as required.
• Work with machinists and technicians to solve complex and critical advanced manufacturing problems including machine set-ups and non-conformance investigation.
• Participate and provide feedback regarding the evaluation of next generation technology as- related to manufacturing, machining, and CNC programming.
• Work within the existing CNC programming process and framework and maintain as required, with the assistance of Process Engineering.
• Travel between customer sites, offices, or job locations as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in technical field plus 8 years of related experience OR 10 years machining/ programming experience.
• Minimum five years of experience using MasterCam Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software for CNC Programming, or similar software.
• Minimum 1 year demonstrated experience programming for turning operations and mill-turn operations, including 7-axis machines.
• Must possess thorough and complete understanding of g-code used for machining operations.
• Must possess thorough and complete understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Familiar with various manufacturing processes including, but not limited to, heat treatment, forging, grinding, casting, and additive manufacturing.
• Experience working with various aerospace materials.
• Must possess working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 certifications and methodology.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Must successfully collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams throughout all levels of the business.
• Valid driver’s license with low-risk driving record.
• Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the United States of America federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen.

T4 level
High school graduation or its equivalent plus a minimum of twelve years of related technical experience is required

T5 level
High school graduation or its equivalent plus a minimum of fifteen years of related technical experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• 1 year of experience using Esprit Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software for CNC Programming of Wire EDM operations.
• Experience in designing, procuring, organizing, and maintaining cutting tools, cutting tool systems, and special cutting tools.
• Experience in process control regarding CNC machining and the relationship to CNC programming.
• 1 year of experience with the development of CNC post processors for various CNC machinery and MasterCam.
