We’re looking for a strategic Copywriter who can capture the heart of the Flyer experience and inspire the next generation of students to soar to heights they never thought possible. Apply today!

As our Copywriter, you won't just fill templates. You’ll craft the voice of the University for prospective students and their families. Moving seamlessly between persuasive email journeys, high-impact print mailers, detailed financial aid communications and presentations that wow audiences, you’ll collaborate with designers and strategists to turn enrollment goals into creative wins.

You’ll research, write, edit, fact-check and proofread print and digital content to ensure key messages reach, engage and persuade our target audiences. You’ll ensure that the University’s communications capture our Catholic and Marianist mission to serve the common good. And you’ll help deliver high-quality, impactful marketing materials that produce results.

This position is located in Dayton, Ohio, and offers a hybrid work schedule with a mix of on-campus and remote work.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in English, marketing, communication or related field.
* 1+ years of professional writing experience (agency, corporate or higher education) OR a strong portfolio demonstrating skills in marketing copywriting acumen.
* High-level proficiency in copywriting and proofreading with work samples that demonstrate skill in analysis, creativity and marketing/advertising.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to follow through and prioritize multiple tasks.
* Collaborative team member with experience working with graphic designers, analysts, strategists and project managers on creative projects.
* Receptive to creative direction and constructive feedback, with the ability to refine and edit copy based on stakeholder input or analytical insights.
* Strong attention to detail — attentive, accurate and thorough.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

* 3+ years of experience crafting multi-channel campaigns, specifically mapping content to a customer/student journey.
* Proficiency in AP style.
* Demonstrated experience tailoring key messages to specific audiences.
* Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex concepts into audience-first benefits.
* Experience in higher education.
* Ability to promote inclusive excellence in the workplace.
