Maintenance Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the Krugersdorp, Gauteng team, · Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies for extrusion and compounding equipment (single-screw, twin-screw extruders, pelletisers, feeders, dosing systems, downstream equipment). · Ensure maximum plant uptime and equipment reliability through proactive maintenance planning. · Manage breakdowns, root cause analysis (RCA), and permanent corrective actions. · Maintain asset registers, maintenance schedules, critical spares lists, and maintenance KPIs. · Provide hands-on technical support for complex mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues. · Optimise extrusion and compounding machinery performance in collaboration with production and process teams. · Oversee installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new equipment and production lines. · Work closely with OEMs and service providers for specialised support and improvements. · Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team (artisans, technicians, planners). · Ensure effective shift coverage and skills development through training and mentoring. · Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. · Prepare and manage the maintenance budget, controlling costs without compromising safety or reliability. · Optimise spare parts inventory and vendor contracts. · Identify opportunities for cost savings through improved maintenance practices and reliability engineering. Requirements · Grade 12 · Trade Tested Millwright / Electrician · Minimum 5–8 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment · At least 3 years in a leadership or management role · Proven hands-on experience with: Extrusion lines and Polymer compounding processes · Must be willing to perform standby duties
