Spire supports areas such as trading, books and records, billing, locates, cash reinvestment and order management, helping firms manage securities finance activity across the trade lifecycle.
This is a hands-on quality engineering role where you’ll contribute to automated testing, support continuous testing practices and build your expertise in a complex enterprise fintech environment. Working with engineers, product teams and quality professionals, you’ll help ensure Spire releases are reliable, well-tested and aligned to business requirements. What you’ll do
- Design, write and maintain functional test cases based on business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Create and maintain BDD feature files using Cucumber and Gherkin syntax.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Playwright or similar automation frameworks.
- Execute functional, regression and exploratory testing to validate new features, fixes and enhancements.
- Support the integration and execution of automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines.
- Identify, document and track defects using Jira, ensuring issues are clearly communicated, reproducible and linked to expected outcomes.
- Partner with developers, product owners and other team members to understand requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Contribute to the maintenance and improvement of automation frameworks, test assets and quality engineering practices.
- Analyse test results and support root-cause investigation of defects and quality issues.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement activities across the team.
What we’re looking for
- 1+ years’ experience in software quality engineering, test automation or a comparable role, ideally with exposure to fintech, financial services technology or enterprise software.
- Practical experience developing automated tests using Selenium, Playwright or similar automation frameworks.
- Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, Python or another object-oriented programming language.
- Experience writing and executing test cases for web-based applications.
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals, including test design techniques, regression testing and defect lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and writing feature files using Gherkin syntax.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and automated testing within software delivery pipelines.
- Experience using Jira or similar defect tracking and test management tools.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database validation techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within Agile teams.
- Willingness to learn, develop technical expertise and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

- Access comprehensive health insurance for you and your dependents from your first day.
- Receive personal accident insurance from the start of your employment.
