Summary:
Esposito Construction has dozens of major sitework projects underway in NJ and we’re looking for a Road / Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic. Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in heavy equipment or diesel truck repair and maintenance, preferably in a field or mobile setting.

Requirements:

  • Ability to perform large and small repairs in the field and on the road, as well as occasional shop work.
  • Strong preventative and predictive maintenance experience.
  • Experienced in engine diagnostics, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, drivetrain, brakes, and suspension.
  • Focus on safety first in all aspects of equipment repair and field service.



Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair dozers, loaders, excavators, and occasionally Mack trucks on job sites.
  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative care to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
  • Identify and replace faulty hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical components in the field.
  • Conduct engine, transmission, and brake system repairs on heavy equipment.
  • Perform welding and fabrication for structural repairs when necessary.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Keep accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper use of PPE.
  • Work independently to respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain mobile truck inventory and supplies to support field repairs efficiently.
  • Occasionally return equipment to shop for more complex repairs as needed.
