What We Offer
~2 min read✓Oversee daily clinical floor operations and support Veterinary Technicians, Veterinary Assistants, and other on-shift team members.
✓Coordinate staffing, assignments, breaks, and workflow based on patient volume, acuity, and hospital needs.
✓Monitor patient flow and help remove operational barriers that could impact efficiency or patient care.
✓Provide real-time leadership, coaching, problem-solving, and support to team members throughout the shift.
✓Help manage callouts, staffing changes, and unexpected changes in caseload.
✓Support onboarding, training, mentorship, and development of clinical team members.
✓Facilitate communication between Emergency, Specialty, Client Service, and hospital leadership teams.
✓Reinforce hospital policies, SOPs, safety standards, and expectations for patient and client care.
✓Assist with employee or client escalations and help identify appropriate solutions.
✓Maintain a visible, hands-on leadership presence throughout the hospital.
✓5+years of clinical experience in a fast-paced hospital environment.
✓Emergency, Specialty, ICU, or high-volume veterinary experience strongly preferred.
✓Previous experience as a Lead Veterinary Technician, Shift Lead, Supervisor, Trainer, or other veterinary team leader preferred.
✓Strong understanding of veterinary hospital workflow, patient flow, staffing, and clinical operations.
✓Ability to prioritize and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, changing environment.
✓Experience coaching, training, mentoring, and providing feedback to team members.
✓Strong communication, organization, conflict-resolution, and problem-solving skills.
✓Ability to remain calm and provide clear direction during emergency and high-acuity situations.
