We are currently seeking a Program Generalist to join our team and help us further our mission of supporting children and families through the Healthy Families Kent County program, promoting positive parent-child relationships and early childhood development.

 

What to expect:

The Program Generalist for Healthy Families Kent County plays a key role in supporting day-to-day program operations, coordination efforts, and communication. This position helps ensure that referrals, outreach, scheduling, and internal processes run smoothly while maintaining high standards of organization, responsiveness, and collaboration. The role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and consistent communication with staff, families, and community partners.
 

What you’ll do:

  • Conduct outreach activities as needed to support program awareness and engagement.
  • Support tracking and monitoring of caseloads and program data to ensure alignment with program capacity and goals.
  • Monitor and check incoming referrals daily to support timely follow-up and service delivery.
  • Answer and manage the Healthy Families Kent County phone line daily, providing responsive and professional communication.
  • Participate in the Family Futures office committee and contribute to team initiatives and program improvements.
  • Review transportation-related requests and support coordination of logistics.
  • Assist with planning and staffing program events as needed.
  • Support preparation and organization of program materials and documentation.
  • Assist with ordering, organizing, and maintaining program supplies and resources as needed.
  • Coordinate ordering, meetings, and travel arrangements as needed.
  • Support Quality Improvement (QI) projects and other program initiatives as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support program operations. 

 

Skills and experiences you’ll bring to the table:

The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and coordination skills, along with experience supporting program operations or administrative functions in a human services or community-based setting.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to track and manage data accurately
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Experience interacting with diverse populations in a respectful and culturally responsive manner
  • Familiarity with community-based programs, scheduling, and coordination processes
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards

  • Experience in nonprofit, human services, or early childhood programs
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Experience with data tracking systems, scheduling tools, or program coordination
  • Some experience or familiarity with basic financial processes or budget-related tasks
  • Spanish speaking ability (bilingual or conversational proficiency is a plus)
