Feedzai is the world’s first RiskOps platform for financial risk management, and the market leader in safeguarding global commerce with today’s most advanced cloud-based risk management platform, powered by machine learning and artificial intelligence. Feedzai is securing the transition to a cashless world while enabling digital trust in every transaction and payment type. The world’s largest banks, processors, and retailers trust Feedzai to protect trillions of dollars and manage risk while improving the customer experience for everyday users, without compromising privacy. Feedzai is a Series D company and has raised $282M to date. With a valuation of $2 billion, our technology protects 1 billion consumers and 90 billion transactions each year.
As a Software Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for developing the Feedzai Orchestration. Technically, this product deals with challenges around large volume data, diverse data sources (internal and external), data orchestration and transformation, and integration of an ecosystem of external and internal data providers into a cohesive whole. The product is used directly by end users, ranging from Data Engineers, Business Analysts and Data scientists.
While the Feedzai Orchestration Solution has several applications wherever there is data wrangling and orchestration needs, the north star use case is Account Opening. This product allows financial institutions to onboard new clients safely, as they subscribe for the very first banking product and throughout their lifecycle as a customer of the bank.
As the entrance to the bank, Account Opening protects the institution and legit customers against critical risks such as identity theft or synthetic identities. Moreover, it is the first layer of protection against the proliferation of mule accounts, used to move funds originated in fraud with the goal of laundering it.
Our philosophy across Engineering includes the following key ideas, which you will have a key role promoting in your team:
- Teams operate with a “you build it, you run it” DevOps mindset, taking end-to-end ownership of development, deployment, and operations. You'll drive a culture focused on automation, observability, and operational excellence, enabling continuous delivery with confidence.
- Architecture evolves towards a decoupled, microservice-based architecture, positioning it to scale efficiently in a multi-tenant, cloud-native environment. This effort is central to Feedzai’s long-term vision and product evolution
- Iterate within an Agile squad to turn product ideas into shippable increments across the stack
- Contribute to best practices and guidelines for software development
- Build back-end services and APIs
- With your team, operate across the full SDLC - design, implement, test, deploy, observe, maintain and refine software services
- Champion engineering excellence by documenting decisions, sharing knowledge in guild sessions and mentoring peers across front‑ and back‑end domains
- Participate in an on-call rotation for our mission-critical platform, taking end-to-end ownership to ensure 24/7 reliability, with dedicated compensation
- BSc/MSc in Computer Science (or equivalent) with strong algorithms, data‑structures and distributed‑systems fundamentals
- 3 + years building production Java-based systems
- Proven ability to develop high‑performance, concurrent services and APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, event‑driven)
- Hands-on with modern data & messaging platforms (Kafka, Spark/Flink, Cassandra/DynamoDB, RabbitMQ or Pulsar) and comfortable working with them at scale
- A growth mindset: curiosity, autonomy and the drive to learn, experiment and teach
- Ability to learn new skills on the job (e.g. new programming languages)
- Nice to have Cloud expertise - AWS services, container orchestration (K8s/EKS), observability stacks, IaC and automated multi‑environment deployments (back‑end & front‑end)
- Nice to have experience working with a modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, DuckDB, dbt, Airflow, Dagster, etc)
- Nice to have front‑end experience with React (or another modern JS framework) and TypeScript
- Nice to have experience with Scala
