Why is this role important to Field Nation?

This Principal Software Engineer /Architect will have the opportunity to impact our Field Nation product by creating and designing new features, delivering on the product roadmap releases, and working collaboratively across the organization to continuously build up our product. This critical position will be a key member of a new product offering. You will participate in the discovery, definition, and delivery of this offering. This position will also offer the chance to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where new innovative ideas are encouraged and collaboration is a must. This position is located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and reports to the Director of Engineering.

Demonstrate technical excellence resulting in scalable, reliable, performant, and maintainable services

Demonstrate a deep understanding of microservices, containerization, serverless, SQL, and no-SQL databases, data modeling and analytics, caching, security, REST APIs, build automation, test automation, and infrastructure automation.

Utilize experience with building, maintaining, and supporting large-scale software solutions in an AWS serverless environment or with Docker and Kubernetes.

Collaborate with API consumers on requirements and solutions

Write high-quality code and tests following test-driven design principles

Work within an agile framework to continuously deliver quality software in a fast-paced environment

Assist in the operation of the service, e.g., monitoring, alerting, metrics, logging, and troubleshooting

Participate in code reviews to ensure new code conforms to the highest standards

Mentor and pair with other engineers to help them reach their potential

Skill Set: Advanced individual contributor with strong skill set

Expertise / Domain Knowledge: Subject Matter Expert for product engineering.

Technology knowledge: Deep knowledge in most technologies used in the product; knowledge of additional technological trends. Aware of Emerging Trends in the Industry Domain.

Tasks / Work Complexity: Highly complex and important to the organization

Software Development Assignments: Contribute to product architecture decisions

Contribution Impact / Value to the Organization: Failure would result in a significant impact to the organization

Supervision Needs: No supervision is needed

Latitude for independent judgment: Extensive latitude. May assist less experienced peers

Mentoring: Mentor less experienced peers. Provide additional leadership in engineering best practices.

10+ years of relevant experience with progressive levels of responsibility

Significant experience with high-throughput, low-latency, highly available, self-healing systems

Ability to work effectively with different product delivery disciplines, including product management, user experience, data, test and integration, and site reliability.

Broad technical knowledge – we look for people who can tie together technologies to solve really big problems.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well with others as part of a team and across teams.

Ability to break down larger initiatives into manageable pieces.

Experience working with offshore teams is a plus.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, etc.).

Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tools.

Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, etc.).

Experience with Microservice architecture (Containers, Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).

Backend web experience with languages such as PHP, JavaScript, Node JS, Golang, etc.

Strong understanding of JavaScript, React, and Redux.

Ability to supervise engineers to write clean, standards-compliant code.

Strong focus and experience in Software Engineering best practices.

Ability to break down more significant initiatives into manageable pieces.

Experience in organizational development and change management.

Experience in mentoring tech leads.

Experience working with offshore teams.

Experience facilitating communication and collaboration across diverse cultural backgrounds (US, etc.).

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.

10+ years working as part of a software engineering team.

4+ years of additional experience of acting as a software engineering architect /lead.

Experience in mentoring engineers (preferred).

Working days: Hybrid Monday to Friday (3 Work from Home + 2 mandatory Work from Office days)

Working hours: 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Location: Uttara 12, Dhaka, Bangladesh

BDT 280,000 - 350,000 (Monthly)
