  • The work location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026 when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.

The Fraud Analyst is a function of Operations Controls and Fraud Management as the 1st line of defense to prevent and manage fraud activity. Reporting directly to the Manager, Operations Controls and with a dotted line to Fraud Manager, Risk Management, this role supports all related client account analysis and verification.

Responsibilities

  • →Policy Management
    • →In collaboration with Manager, Operations Control and Fraud Manager, you will support the Client Services fraud monitoring program by:
    • →Assessing existing policies and procedures to comply with new & changing regulations
    • →Assessing existing training materials, and internal communications to align with policies and procedures
    • →Recommending enhancements to strengthen the Client Services monitoring program
  • →Daily Monitoring
    • →Analyze alerts generated from system reports identifying potential fraudulent or unusual transactions by:
    • →Reviewing alerts, including voice authenticator mismatches to separate false positives from fraud activity
    • →Reviewing customer account information and activity related to the alerts, summarizing the information and determining if/how to investigate the account(s) activity
    • →Determining whether the alert is unusual enough to warrant further review. If not, close the alert with comments. If yes, act to effectively and efficiently minimize risk to the client and Fidelity.
  • →Monitoring Programs
    • →In collaboration with the Manager and Team Manager, maintain a Client Services monitoring program in support of divisional compliance reporting obligations. Assess business activities on an ongoing basis that require monitoring, determining appropriate methodologies for execution of monitoring to Fidelity standards, and fulfills reporting requirements to CS Management and or Compliance within pre-established timelines.

    • →Participates in Client Services on regulatory projects initiated by Compliance and or other CS or organizational initiatives as a subject matter expert.


  • →Advanced Analysis and Problem-Solving Competency
  • →Strong verbal and written skills
  • →Project management skills
  • →Industry knowledge (strong knowledge of the mutual fund industry, knowledge of Transfer Agent Operations)
  • →Strong knowledge of registered products, locked in products and awareness of mutual fund legislation including NI 81-102, AML, Privacy, U.S./ Foreign Residents
  • →Organizational agility
  • →Bilingualism is an asset

  • 3+ years of experience in the financial industry required, and mutual funds experience is an asset
  • 2 years of experience working in a fraud function required, with working knowledge of fraud detection and applications
  • Proven ability to participate in cross-departmental, cross-divisional and industry related working groups
  • College degree required, or equivalent work experience
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and/or Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) is an asset

For this role, your total rewards include

  • Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus: Total annual cash compensation of $79,000 to $90,000, based on your experience and qualifications.
